Luckily for you, there is. OrthoNOW has recently developed a one-on-one video appointment service, staffed by our orthopedic clinicians. These clinicians are ready and willing to assist, guiding you through care of your issue, all in the comfort of one’s own home, or from your job site. This is made available at a minimal cost of just $25 during the COVID-19 pandemic, and insurance is accepted.

I have become comfortable with a certain therapist. Is it possible to continuously request this therapist during different sessions?

Yes, by all means. We strive to provide our clients with the best care and customer service possible. If there’s ever a special request, we’ll do everything we can to accommodate the patient!

Physical interaction has been restricted and, in some cases, completely placed on hold. Is it possible to physically see a therapist at the Doral Orthopedic Center?

Yes, it is possible. DOC has taken advanced steps to ensure that all safety protocols have been put in place and that government regulations are adhered to. Hence, DOC has been granted permission to operate, as it is a medical necessity in society. Our physical therapy center is back to operating at full hours.

I have heard about The Surgery Center at Doral, but I am not exactly sure what kind of services they offer. What do they do?

The Surgery Center at Doral is a medical center that is focused and dedicated to the assistance of patients who require surgery but do not require hospitalization after their surgery. Patients take advantage of modern technology and anesthesia to be able to go home the same day. Patients must be under the care of one of the physicians that have been approved to operate here.

The SCD does not permit overnight stays. This type of environment is highly conducive to speedy recoveries and to a less disruptive experience, for both patient and family members.

What type of treatment is The Surgical Center at Doral famous for?

Our surgical staff is well known for the usage of the most recent and innovative treatments, such as laparoscopic, minimally invasive, arthroscopic, and laser procedures which yield less pain and expedite recovery. What is the most important instruction to family members or friends of the patient?

It is a regulation from the surgery center at Doral that every patient be driven home by another person and not drive by themselves due to the potential danger of drowsiness as a result of the surgery. Other regulations vary, as during the COVID-19 pandemic, so please consult your physician’s office.

Are there any possible additional charges that I, as a patient, may incur during the surgical process at Doral?

The cost of the treatment is straight forward and transparent, but in some cases, you may be charged separately for any additional treatment that is rendered by 3^rd party medical personnel. Your treating physician’s office can help you with details.

How do I request a schedule for surgery?

We offer a One Medical Passport for your surgery. To schedule a surgery procedure, you will need to pre-register through this link. (https://www.onemedicalpassport.com/?fid=1056) Please have your insurance information handy before entering the site. Also, bring a companion must stay with you for 24 hours.

What do I need to bring on the day of my surgery?

You will need to bring your insurance cards, photo ID, Medicare or Medical Assistance information, numbers and addresses. You may want a bag to place your clothes in while in surgery.

Will my insurance cover my procedures?

We are in partnership with several insurance companies. Our Business Office will do a pre-verification screening to ensure we can accept the patients at the Center and will be happy to work with you and your patients to resolve any insurance issues before they become problematic.

What facilities are available for my family or companions waiting for me during my surgery?

During surgery your escort will stay in a waiting area and will rejoin you in the recovery area after your surgery.

Am I allowed to eat or drink anything prior to my operation?

You may not have anything to eat or drink after midnight before your surgery. You will be given instructions by your doctor in advance regarding your food or drink limitations before and after your surgery. Detailed preparations on food intake can be found on this page. What time should I be at the clinic on the day of my surgery?

Be at the center at least one hour and thirty minutes prior to your surgery unless told otherwise by the surgery center. This will allow you to complete pre-surgery procedures and meet your doctors as well.
