Specialty Overview
The DOC is proud to introduce the Regenerative Institute in Doral, Florida, serving greater Miami. Regenerative Medicine is the field of medicine including PRP and stem cell therapy, or the process of creating tissues to repair function which was lost due to damage, age, disease, or congenital defects.
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy is the signature regenerative treatment offered by the clinicians at the Renerative Institute. An injection into the joint, similar in complexity to a steroid injection when performed by an orthopedic trained clinician, PRP treatments have shown to be effective for many orthopedic conditions, including acute or chronic ligament and tendon sprains and strains. PRP uses the patient’s own blood for therapy, promoting a natural healing process.
Stem cells in your body have the ability to divide and turn into other types of desirable cells. Stem cells from you are called mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) and can regenerate connective tissues. Stem cell treatments have been shown to be effective in dealing with the inflammatory component of degenerative arthritis.
Orthobiologic treatments can be administered in hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, or private offices, depending on (1) the facility’s ability to maintain the correct environment and (2) the skills of the clinicians.
The most commonly treated conditions include cartilage and meniscus disorders.
Numerous studies have evaluated the use of PRP in the assisting with ACL reconstruction, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, degenerative spine disease, rotator cuff repair, elbow tendonitis (tennis elbow), and knee osteoarthritis.
A recent study published in the Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine showed that 75% of patients receiving PRP treatments were 35 years or older.

PRP for Jumper’s Knee
Patellar tendinopathy is a common cause of anterior knee pain, mostly affecting athletes. Also known as patellar tendonitis, or Jumper’s Knee, the pain is severe at the point where the patellar tendon joins the tibia and affects the performance in all levels of mobility and athletic participation. Autologous Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is increasingly being used-

PRP for Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis is a common foot disorder causing extreme pain in the heel. Approximately 10% -15% of adults experience heel pain at some point in their life. The common sufferers are runners, people who have to stand for a prolonged period, and people who are overweight. Those who participate in Zumba, ballet, or other aerobic

Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy for Arthritis
Sometimes referred to as autologous conditioned plasma (ACP) therapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy has increasingly been used for various orthopedic conditions, including chronic arthritis. With no definitive curative therapy, the use of PRP in the treatment of osteoarthritis has been a topic of research and advancement. Osteoarthritis is the condition when the cartilage is diminished.-

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for shoulder disorders
There has been a surge in the use of platelet-rich plasma in regenerative medicine, especially in orthopedics. Platelet-rich plasma is a solution that is prepared from the patient’s blood and by the centrifugation process platelet is concentrated. This solution contains platelets along with various growth factors in the amount more than what normally is present
